How to Program the BOARD, DOWN, and UP Positions

This feature makes boating safer and more convenient for everyone! Today, we're detailing how to quickly program your Firstmate Controls remote control boat lift system for each position. How to Program BOARD Position

  1. Use the UP and DOWN buttons to raise and lower your lift.
  2. Press STOP when the lift is in the desired boarding position. Be sure to test it with several members of your boating party to make sure everyone can easily board and de-board.
  3. Then, enter the program by pressing ENTER/SAVE.
  4. “SE” will appear on the screen, followed by “dn”. 
  5. Use the LEFT and RIGHT arrows to find “bd” for BOARD. 
  6. While on “bd”, press ENTER/SAVE. 
  7. “SA” will appear to confirm the setting has been saved.
  8. Your lift system has been programmed for boarding!


How to Program the DOWN Position

  1. Put the unit in MANUAL mode by pressing the AUTO/MANUAL button.
  2. The LED above MANUAL should come on.
  3. Then press DOWN to lower the lift.
  4. The lift is in the DOWN position when the hoses choke, spit water, and the chains are tight.
  5. Press STOP.
  6. Then, enter the program by pressing ENTER/SAVE.
  7. “SE” will appear on the screen, followed by “dn”. 
  8. While on “dn”, press ENTER/SAVE. 
  9. “SA” will appear to confirm the setting has been saved.
  10. Your lift is now programmed for the down position.


How to Program the UP Position*

*NOTE: YOU SHOULD NOT PROGRAM THE "UP" POSITION UNTIL “DOWN” AND “BOARD” HAVE BEEN PROGRAMMED.
  1. Put the unit in AUTO mode by pressing the AUTO/MANUAL button.
  2. The LED above AUTO should come on.
  3. Then, while the lift is either in the DOWN or BOARD position, press UP.
  4. The unit should turn itself off.
  5. Next, put the unit in MANUAL mode by pressing the AUTO/MANUAL button.
  6. The LED above MANUAL should come on.
  7. Then press UP.
  8. Time how long it takes for the tanks to bubble.
  9. Once the tanks bubble, press STOP.
  10. Enter the program by pressing ENTER/SAVE.
  11. “SE” will appear on the screen, followed by “dn”. 
  12. Use the left and right arrows to find “EA” for Extra Air. 
  13. While on “EA”, press ENTER/SAVE. 
  14. The display will read “Eu”. 
  15. While on “Eu”, press ENTER/SAVE. 
  16. The display will show a number in increments of 10 seconds. (i.e. “03” represents 30 seconds).
  17. Remember your number? Add 10 to that count and then add that to the setting. For example, if it took your system 20 seconds to bubble, you would add 10 seconds to equal 30, or “03”. So you will add “03” to the existing setting. (If the original number read “03”, adding “03” would mean your final setting is “06”.)
  18. Your Firstmate Controls lift system is now programmed for the up position.
