TOP 5 Things To Bring On A Family Boating Trip

1. YOU CAN'T GO WRONG WITH WATERPROOF BAGS.

If you don't have waterproof bags for your valuables and electronics, the next best thing is to have a plastic bag. This can help keep your phone, watch, and cash dry in case there are any spills or splashes that come straight for your device. No one wants to have their day ruined by having their phone waterlogged. Keep a box of Ziploc bags in the Grab Box so that everyone can keep their valuables safe from moisture during the day.

2.  YOU CAN NEVER BRING ENOUGH TOWELS.

Most everyone will grab their towel on the way out of the house, but sometimes one is not enough. Maybe you're swimming at a stopping point for awhile, you get out and dry off to spend some time on board, then jump back in. When you get out, your soaking wet towel may not do much good to dry you off a second time. There are also sometimes spills, splashing over the edge, and other instances where you may wish you brought a few extra towels. That is why it is a good idea to keep a few extra in your grab box for a day on the boat.

3. HAVING A FIRST-AID KIT ON BOARD IS ALWAYS A GOOD IDEA.

You never know what could happen out on the water. It's best to be prepared with a basic first-aid kit that can help patch up scrapes, scratches, and minor issues you may encounter during your day on the water.

4. HAND WIPES ARE GREAT!

Lake water is not the cleanest thing on the planet. Make sure you and your family are safe from germs by using sanitizing wipes and hand sanitizer when you come out of the water. This is especially important before you start eating or snacking with your hands.

5. YOU CAN'T OVER DO IT ON THE SUNSCREEN ON A HOT DAY.

This is an important item for obvious reasons. Having a backup bottle of sunscreen could save you from a bad sunburn that you may regret for days or weeks. Sometimes it's hard to tell how much is left in a bottle, so it never hurts to have extra available in case.
