Make sure you dress for the season!
While this is Missouri and the weather can be REALLY unpredictable, fall is typically not as warm as summer, so dress for that if you know you are going to be out on the boat. Layer up and stay warm. Nothing can ruin a boat trip quite like catching a cold.
Prevent dock accidents from happening by checking it beforehand.
You may not be out on your dock as much now as you were in the summer, but safety should still be a priority. You should get dock checked. We can help.
You can save a life by having life jackets on board.
Not only is this a law, but it's an important safety tip. You should have enough life jackets on board for everyone aboard your boat. This goes for good swimmers and those who can't swim very well. It doesn't matter. If you are out on the water, it can take only seconds for an accident to happen and you're better off with a life jacket.
Always drive with your senses about you.
Too many boat accidents have happened over the years that were caused by boating while intoxicated. If you know you are going to boat to a cove somewhere and have a few drinks, plan ahead and bring a sober captain with you that can drive your boat back. The consequences simply aren't worth it.
