We started our company and invented the Firstmate remote control system as a way to provide a solution to the modern boat lift controls shortcomings. Specifically, the safety issues with not being able to lower the lift while cleaning inside the boat. Before Firstmate's inception, John and Julie were cleaning their boat when Julie tried getting out of the boat while it was still lifted high out of the water. She tumbled and fell in between the lift and the dock. Through this painful accident, John and Julie became determined to create a solution that would allow boaters to lower their lift safely from inside their boats in just such a situation. Thus the Firstmate boat lift remote control system was born.
Expert Manufacturing
Firstmate Controls believes that quality is important, and we live out that value every day in our manufacturing facility. Located in Labadie, Missouri, our facility is where your product is created from the ground up. We start with a corrosion-resistant aluminum frame design that is then welded together and powder painted for additional stability and longevity. All electronic components are tested fully both before and after assembly to ensure everything is functioning before your product is delivered to you. As our product goes down the line, it is product-checked for quality control.

Our company first began as Firstmate Controls in 2005 and has traveled through many twists and turns over the years, starting out in satellite communications. We still perform contract engineering to this day for both large firms and small business inventors. We have been able to serve communities by bringing products to the marine, drive-through, trucking, and communications industries.
